Can anyone tell me the max published load for this combo:

.300 WM
Hodgdon H4831
Nosler Accubond 180 gr

I'm helping a friend work up loads on his Ruger MKII.

Thanks.

The Nosler Reloading Guide does not show a load using H4831 for the 180gr Accubond in 300WM. It does however show a starting load of 69.0gr and a max load of 73.0gr using IMR4831.

The Hodgdon website does not show a load for the 180gr Accubond. Went through this with a neighbor. He just used IMR4831

bookworm,

Yep, Hornady doesn't have data for the 180g Accubond, but you can take the data for the 180g Speer, using it's data decrease by 5% and work up. Max load is 73g which is compressed.

Don't be affraid to work up your own data using the reloading manuals as a coservative guide. you can generally get close.

With that light a bullet I can almost bet you will have better results at around 72grns Imr4350 but in a 300wm your data with H4831 will be 1grn less than Imr7828 with 165-190grn bullets.

Thanks guys.

I have a 300WM myself and shoot 190 gr Bergers over H4831 and it shoots very well at 72 grains, with 73 as Berger's max load.

Sounds like the 73 is very close for the 180 gr as well.

Thanks again.
