Perhaps a stupid question but I do not know the answer so I will ask.

Will a Badger unit fit correctly in a stock inletting for Hawkins or simply "M5 inletting".

I assume it will but I did not know if the Badger might be thicker or thinner than others.

If I am not mistake Badger is the original M5 inlet, it is their design and name. Anything else that says its compatible with an M5 inlet, like a Hawkins unit, should fit.

I was told it is the same for short actions but not for a long action. I had the same question when ordering a stock recently. Maybe someone else can verify?

Maybe call or email the manufacturer. Straight from the horses mouth as it were.

As stated, when the term 'M5' is used, the original dimensions are from Badger Ordnance. Any variations should require an explanation.

I've had Hawkins LA be a bit longer in the mag area and would not fit in an M5 Badger inlet without a small bit of relief.
