Has anyone tried loading for the 300 PRC, yet? About to order a reamer, gauges, dies and brass. I have not been able to locate any load data, yet. I plan to load a hunting round and a target round for this one.

Thanks. I have been all over that site and read everything I found. I see a couple of powders mentioned, but I would like a starting point for powder charge. No one has mentioned a charge weight, that I saw. I'm not looking for someone's exact load, just a safe starting point would be nice. I will be using H1000 to begin with, and 212 ELD-X's, and possibly a 215 or 230 Berger.

with those bullet weights and h-1000 and 3.600 oal. start at 78.0 and work up.
that is a high end 300 win mag load. I entered the 300 PRC in my quick load and quick design and that should get you started.

Saw where someone had pulled down a factory 225 gr load and it was loaded with 75.2 gr H1000. It was posted on Sniper hide.
I have one and have about 50 rounds down the barrel messing around with different loads but haven’t gotten to H 1000 yet.
I started with Retumbo and IMR8133 with both 208gr and 225 gr.
Found a really good load with 208gr and Retumbo running 3040fps.
Picture above is that load at 654 yards.

Thanks. I was playing with Quickload, as well. It looks like 82.4gr of H1000, with a 3.700 oal, and 212 ELDX would be a safe max. I was thinking to start around 78.0, just wanted another opinion.

Hornady has finally released some. Check their website. It may be posted on another thread here, I'm not sure.

My 300 prc rig is being built as we speak by Cprecision rifles. Any updated load data from anyone.

Load data from Berger personal on 210VLD and 215 bullets. Company would only give data over the phone.
Interesting how much powder is used vs Hornady reloading site. See attached picture.

Thanks for sharing. Looks like similar results with H1000 vs RL26

Running a 24" 1:9 with :
78 grains h1000 I was at pressure with Fed 215M primers at averaging 2887 fps.
78 grains h1000 CCI 200 no pressure at 2865 fps

I think the factory are loaded with RL26.
I found a pretty huge swing in the factory ammo powder charges. Average was 74.5 with a 3.2 grain difference from high to low. definitely using Fed 215s from factory. Book weight for RL26 came pretty close to actual velocity. I pulled apart the last 80 of 200 and weighed each charge and messed with different charge weights.

As mentioned 78gr h1000 was pressure in my setup with .020 jump using 225 ELD-x so you may consider starting slightly lower.

Thanks for the input. I decided to start with 75 grains of H1000 to break the barrel in and it looks like a good starting point with the 225 ELD-X and an OAL of 3.7.
