I have a Burris 3x12 scout scope and it is great, but they are hard to find. I don't know of any other manufacturer that makes one. Vortex makes a scout scope but it is a lower end model.

Chris thanks for the update on that. That is not good news. I have three Leupold 2X pistol scopes on my Contender barrels. I have noticed in the last few years that I could use more magnification. I too was waiting for the sales that usually happen in late winter.

I pretty much gave up on handgun scopes. I find their quality to be lacking.

I'm all red dot on wheelguns and rifle scopes on single shots.

I don't have a problem taking a red dot to 200 yards and that covers 99% of my hunting.

Ultradot 2moa 30mm gen 2 works great for me.

They also have their matchdot which you can dial….and it tracks well.

Took a cow elk at 220 yards in another thread on here.

The key….like all accurate shooting. Focus on the dot….just like you would a reticle or front sight. Thus the target should be slightly out of focus.

It depends on what you want to use it on. The Vortex has a pretty long eye relief. Bought one for my lever action and it's way too long. More for a Mosin tbh. Mine is just sitting in the box.
