We do. Unfortunately, they are paving it over as fast as they can. The valley we live in is winter range for deer, although some are certainly year round residents. With the growth of the area, the wildlife here are going to suffer. You live in a nice place.![]()
Sad very sad. Unfortunately, this is happening in a lot of places!!We do. Unfortunately, they are paving it over as fast as they can. The valley we live in is winter range for deer, although some are certainly year round residents. With the growth of the area, the wildlife here are going to suffer.
I think the reason I have seen so many bucks this spring is they are putting in a new mall in a previously completely undeveloped parcel which was probably several thousand acres. It's less than a mile away as the crow flies. With all the destruction of the habitat, the deer in that area are probably migrating in our direction, since the other direction is town.
From what we have seen, I don't think there are too many places where it is NOT happening. If we were just a little younger (and the weather wasn't so tough) we would move to Wyoming tomorrow. We love the Lander area.Sad very sad. Unfortunately, this is happening in a lot of places!!
You're like my hunting buddy. He only wants animals that are atypical. No typical bucks or bulls for him!The right buck is going to finish out nicely.
The left buck...looks like a 3 antler buck to me! He would be high on my hit list if so.
Agree, this New Mexico buck was 23" wide and as wide as his ears. The right buck is going to finish out nicely.

Those are commonly referred to as yard deerLast year this appeared during hunting season within the city limits where it is forbidden to shoot it.....weird, like it knows.
