Leica 1600b?

I tried out my new leica 1600b today and found that the yardage display is so dim I could not see the reticle or read the range when viewing in bright sunlight. If I tried it against something dark I could barley make out the reticle and range. I have the crf 1200 and have never had a problem. So my question is has anyone else had this problem with a 1600b?

Was it really cold out or was the unit cold? I'd assume you had a new battery in it?

I tried a couple of new batteries in it and I had just taken it from inside the house to outside and tried it.

My leica works well and the retcle is visible in any conditions.
