I would say yes, it can be used and no there should not be any additional set up

Yes, it works fine with the typical rifle setup.

Yes works great, just make sure if using a muzzle break the blast is not directed towards it.

I've used mine with my TC Hawken. Works Great!

I set mine to pistol mode for my Knight Mountaineer with velocities of 1200-1400fps. Rifle mode works with my Paramount Pro with velocities over 2000fps.
