Who had used both or used v2? Is 1 or had 1 been better than the other as in consistency? I've been thinking about v1 instead of v2 as some reports are not for the liking of v2 due to terrible cs when having issues?

I have used the Labradar that belonged to a friend, and I was determined to buy one, until I read about the Garmin...long story short, I bought the Garmin, no regrets. I've been doing load development with a 35 Whelen, the Garmin never skips a beat.

I got the new, little Lab Radar. It doesn't miss a beat. And it produces two readings, one at the muzzle and one at a set distance, like 20 yards. (Yes, this allows for BC calculations, but to be honest, a company's BC's calculated over hundreds of yards is more precise by reducing the margin of error percentages.) Customer service was excellent in answering questions, even before purchasing.

Most definitely look at the garmin, or possibly the athlon. I had a lab radar that got moved as soon as I could get my hands on a garmin. They are fickle devices and I ended up having to buy a recoil trigger to improve reliability. I still missed shots sometimes.
The athlon is super new, so I havent seen any reports on it yet. Same form favtor as the garmin, just cheaper.
I can say the garmin is super easy to set up, i havent ever dropped a shot, and tiny compared to the lab radar. For the convenience and usability alone I recommend the garmin.

I have had the v1 and the magneto speed and Garmin. The v1 would constantly drop shots and was very hit or miss on function so it was sold. So far happy with the Garmin, magneto was fine but didn't like the impact shifting when in use vs not. I have had the Garmin for about a year and has yet to drop a shot suppressed or not even down to 22lr.

You mentioned CS when having issues with the V2, I believe it would be the same if it was V1 as well, since it is the same company. I do not own either one, never been around them, but with a lot of negativity listed on this forum with missed shots on V1, I would think V2 would be my choice if you are dead set on Lab radar only. I own the Garmin and never missed a shot.

I switched to another brand from The original LAB due to the fact that it was so finicky on picking up bullets. If you are trying to work up a load and it won't pick up half the shots it is totally worthless. I went to the new Garmin. LAB is far too hard to setup with or without a suppressor. And when I say set up I mean to position the thing the right height, distance and direction the faceplate is in relation to the target. And with a suppressor the LAB had to almost touching the end of the can to even pick up the shot. I had far better luck with old cheap shoot over chronos.
I have the big one and with an external Piet trigger it has been 99% reliable.
I have since purchased a Garmin just due to size factor. I am planning to sell my LabRadar if you are interested.

We all have different preferences and intended purposes. All of us V1 owners went through a painful learning curve when it first came out, but after that, along with the after-market trigger system, all was well. I still have mine; I did not have any issues. As far as switching brands, I purchased a Caldwell Velociradar because I wanted to have hands-on experience with the CHIRP RADAR since I already have the optical (Chrony, yes, I still have mine, and it still works) and DOPPLER RADAR systems. I only have one session with the Velociradar and need more time before I am comfortable sharing my experience/opinion.

I've used the Garmin and Labradar. Much prefer the Garmin. Takes up so little bench space for one thing. Caldwell is making a small unit now, similar to the Garmin but I havent used it.

I bought a used Lab Radar. The big orange one. And could not be happier. I have only tried pistol (9 & 10 mm) and rifle so far. It has worked well. I was expecting to have more issues than I did. From what I read on here. I set it on the bench. Aim it toward the target. Arm it and shoot away.

OK, it is hard to get a forum to compare apples with apples. Maybe instead of v1 and v2 it would help to refer to LabRadar LX, the little one about the size of a baseball. It picked up everything, even in the cold (30*F).
