What are the minimum features that are a must for long range shooting in a Kestrel meter?
Kestrelmeters.com has meters between 100 and 600 bucks.

Edit**
Assume you had a G7 BR2. Based on what I see, all you need to input are altitude, temperature, and wind speed. Based on that, the 2500 is all you need correct?

I bought a Kestrell 4500 with applied ballistics about a month ago. I like having everything in one unit. It was $580 but it's been a great training tool.
