I brought a bottle of that back from a Buffalo Trace visit in KY. It's still unopened, saving it for the right time with the right people. People who will also appreciate a needle in the haystack find.

Well today was one hellofaday and tomorrow doesn't look like it will be much better. Not a Vodka night so when Vodka doesn't do it then one has to revert to the next best, well maybe next better...Jameson.

A few shots of this and one forgets the troubles of the day. Makes falling asleep easier too.

Tonight's pour. I'm not sure how to describe it. It's not Scotch, but not traditional bourbon tasting. Maybe Scotch with a more pronounced charred barrel flavor? It's different and I like it. It's not the greatest I've ever had, but it's a nice pour.

Malted barley gives that taste you're getting. And that's a straight malted whiskey you have there. It's not a bourbon actually at all. It was likely put in new charred oak barrels, unlike Scotch, which is used barrels.
