IMR4955...new powder for 2016

Hodgdon is adding another to the Enduron series. Said to be close to H4831 in burn speeds. Load data for it is already on their website, and looks to be similar to H4831. I just picked up a pound of IMR4451 tonight...and now another option to ponder.

This one sounds good, should be an excellent powder for 375 Ruger, 375 H&H, 375 RUM, 375 Norma Mag & misc. variants and similar cartridges in the bigger bores....... an often missed advantage is the VV N160 in the 375's .... probably due to availability and this should be a good alternative.......

I got 8 pound jugs of IMR 4166 [4895 speed] and IMR 4451 [4350 speed] that have temp and Copper fouling coatings.

In October I shot (3) animals with 120 gr Nos Bal Tips in 6.5-06 and 125 gr Nos Bal tip 300 Win Mag both with 4166.

The 6.5 barrel is Shilen select match SS and the 300 barrel is Krieger.
Those are high quality barrels and both were running ~ 3200 fps.
I would have expected to clean the bores every 15 shots, but they were going more like 30 shots before I could see Copper after pushing a patch with powder solvent through. The Copper cleaned fast with KG12 on patch followed with Witch's Brew on a brush. Typically a 7 minute operation.

I am very happy with the new powder.
