Improving skills

If you are in the area I'd suggest you take barbourcreek's class. Becoming efficient at medium range let's say 600 yards isn't tough you just need the training and knowledge which I know they offer and more.

You can learn this stuff on your own and become very proficient, but there is some trial and error that can make the learning process long. Going and shooting with some pros like Barbour Creek's can lower that learning curve substantially. If I was packing up and heading off to a caribou hunt, I would attend one of their classes.
 
One thing I found helpful when I was younger was making up some "dummy rounds" and mixing them in with live ammo and having someone else load the magazine Didn't realize how bad I was flinching until hearing "click" and the rifle still moved!
