I'm considering a 2012 elk hunt in Idaho. I 'd be flying in and out of JFK in NYC. What's involved in shipping trophy heads and meat back to New York?

Can meat be flown or shipped in a practical manner?

You can ship it in a cooler. I think they charge by the pound. Just have to have proper hunting information in cooler.

How; USPS, UPS, Fed Ex? Any idea what shipping costs would be?

The airline will let you ship extra baggage for a price. Fed EX would be way to high. Should have around 300 lbs meat. Don't know the cost. Call airline or Fed Ex.
