Turn Off GPS on Garmin® Foretrex® 701 - Pro Tip
Users have been asking if they can turn off GPS and save battery. The answer is yes. When you put the device in DEMO mode, it shuts down the GPS portion conserving battery when you don't need to use the GPS portion. To do this:
1) Go to Settings Page
2) Go to Setup (press enter)
3) Scroll down to System (press enter)
4) Press Enter on GPS Mode and select Demo
When you restart the device, it will automatically turn the GPS back on.
