In 34 years a Wildlife Officer and 42 years as a Hunter Education instructor I have seen a lot of gun damage. I our District 3 we had a Pre 64 Model 70 Win. that had been custom barreled to 25-06. At a range helping other people some way got a 308 Win. shell got in his vest pocket. He loaded the rifle and started firing on the line. The Mauser extractor picked up and fed the shell into the chamber, When fired the gun blew to pieces. There is over 40 parts in the display case holding the gun. Scope was blew off the gun, The front receiver ring split through the scope base screw holes. I have know of 3 25-06 rifles blowing up by the use of 308 Win. ammo. No one was injured thank the
