Got a Ruger #1 in 375 H&H

Hunt in Idaho. Elk, moose.

What is the most sensible bullet and velociy?

Been working on a 300gr Hornady BTSP load. Thinking that may be a little much.....

Advice would be appreciated.

I like the 260 Accubond, I haven't shot any critters with it yet but it shoots very well (even to 1000 yards). I'm taking it to Alberta in just a few weeks for a Black bear bash.
