Help Swarovski turrets 6-18x50 tds

I bought a Swarovski 6-18x50 with tds reticles
The scope unknown to me has custom hunting caped (screw on caps) not tactical for a 7mm
Which I do not shoot. Can I sight in my rifle and still use the tds reticles accurately for a different caliber? Why have custom hunting turrets installed when you have a tds reticles?

You can use the tds reticle for any load. Check out the Swarovski ballistics calculator and it will give you approximate ranges for each subtension based on your load and magnification:

The rest of your post is unclear to me - it sounds like you have the ballistic turret model but someone replaced the factory asjustable turret with a custom one? If so, you can either go back to the factory one or have a new custom one made for your load. I believe there is a site-sponsor who makes them but for the life of me I can't think of them this morning . . .
