Hey all
Called Melvin today and he has convinced me to order a new rifle. One of these days i will draw my sheep tag so i am looking for a lightweight mountain hiker for sheep.
I have it narrowed down to a couple. Either looking at the 308 win, or 7mm-08 or the LA 270 or 30-06.
According to Melvin we can be scoped and ready to roll at about 5 1/4 lbs with the short action and 6 1/4 lbs with the long action.
I am leaning twords the 308 but i have never been on a sheep hunt so i dont know what to expect.
your insight is appreciated
