I have an AR-30 with a 30" Rock barrel that I want to rechamber in an Improved version of the 338 LM but have no clue as to the pros and cons of the various versions.

I can use all help you are willing to give.

Thanks,
Ray

I went with the 338AX. The ability to get fireformed brass ready to load from Kirby was a huge plus. Just send him any brand 338 Lapua brass you prefer and he will fireform it for a small fee. He also now has Jamison 338AX headstamped brass. He sells the reloading dies made with the same reamer that does your chamber. Not to mention hes a hell of a smith and great guy to deal with.

338 Allen Xpress
338 Lapua Magn
um parent case, fireformed to Allen Magnum shoulder and body configuration.
200 gr. (3350 to 3450 fps in 27-30" barrels) to 300 gr. SMK or ULD RBBT (2850 to 2950 fps in 27-30" barrels)
Designed for heavy game out to long range.
Appropriate powders: H4831, Rl-22, Rl-25, H-1000, Ramshot Magnum, Retumb
