I just all but finished off an 8 lb jug of H4831SC in my 25-06. It pushed several different weight bullets with great accuracy. With just a few ounces left and none to be found AT A REASONABLE PRICE. I took a chance and bought 8 lbs of VV N555 and loaded 134g ELDMs at the same velocity the H4831SC was pushing them and I got bugholes with single digit SD's

I'm curious; what does the bore look like after consuming 8lbs of powder through the .257 bore?

The barrel looks great. I clean it VERY well. After 100 rounds I clean out carbon and copper with bore tek and then I scrub it with JB Bore Paste and inspect with a borescope. Many clean, cold bore shots go where the rifle is aimed.
Buying 1lbs is alright to start with, but after that and you like it. 8lbs are the way to go. I know it's a costs, but you can burn a lot of rounds on 8lbs.

Midway USA has 8lbs in stock, just purchased one for myself.Buying 1lbs is alright to start with, but after that and you like it. 8lbs are the way to go. I know it's a costs, but you can burn a lot of rounds on 8lbs.

I took a peek at Ammoseek. Shows Natchez has 4831sc both 1 pound and 8 pound. But I didn't go to site and put it in my basket to conform.
