H4831 vs H4831SC

I am having a hard time finding H4831 powder . I am getting mixed reports about the H 4831SC powder in regards to whether it is performing the same as the H4831, Mostly based on what they have heard other places. does anyone have actual shooting performance data when interchanging the H4831 with the H4831SC powder?

It's the same powder. You just get different case fill.

Dmagna is correct. Short cut just flows better and you can get a little more in a case. Same burn rate and velocity per grain.

I'm looking at H4831 and H4831SC cans side by side and the load data on them is identical, so Hodgon thinks they're the same thing.

In practical use my 6.5-284 can't tell the difference between them. I honestly had to look to see if I even had the non-SC type anymore because SC is so readily available it's what I've stocked up on. I don't see any reason to not use SC.

I think the only time the kernel size difference actually mattered was I needed SC to max out charge weight in 243AI, the non-SC wouldn't hit the same weight without compressing and I was already seating the bullet up in the neck.

It's the same I was running SC and could only find the regular at the time and it switched over for me with no issues
