I bought a Christensen Mesa long range, 300 win mag, 26" barrel, 1:10 twist. Planning to load some Berger 210 VLD's, problem is I was wanting to use H-1000 but I cannot find any at local stores or online. I do have a few pounds of H4831, any problems with this powder and bullet combo? Or does anyone know where some H-1000 could be bought at? Thanks for the help.

Look at you manuals, according to mine H4831 or ADI AR2213sc is a suitable powder with 300WM up to 230gr projectiles so it should work just as well as any others would.
And probably the good thing about it is that even at that weight pill the loads are not compressed!

With H-1000 or ADI AR2217 you start getting into compressed loads at the upper end of the charge range.
Im not saying compressed loads are a bad thing generally but it can cause some seating issues at times.

H4831 will work fine, not optimal but plenty good. I know some hunters whose favorite load for their 300 WM is a load with H4831, esp with lighter bullets. In addition it is not esp. sens to temp variations. If you continue to be unable to locate any H1000, RL26 is another good alternative.

I have used H-4831 in my 300 Win mag with 180 gr bullets with good results. What I have found is with heaver bullets, like 200 gr+ slower powders are better. IMR-7828 has been good for me as well as some slower ones. RL-26 works good but very hard to find.

Had pretty good luck with h4831 but little slow. Rl 23, 25, 33 good powders

H1000 and rl 26 little tough to find. any slow burning powder around h1000 is worth a look at if u have on hand.
Cheers

SC stands for short cut. You can fit more in a case really only advantage. H4831 and H4831 SC are interchangeable. IMR 4831 and H4831 are not. You should get a slight fps advantage from H4831 plus very temp stable
