Newbie here and just getting back into reloading and looking for help. I have a 300 win mag that shoots factory ammo great but with the cost want to get back to reloading. I shoot hornady SST ammo and American whitetail with great success. I have recently purchased h1000 and 7828ssc, 200gr eld-x bullets, and CCI 250 primers. I'm hoping I can load up some that shoot as good or better than factory.Any suggestions??

Welcome to LRH and enjoy!

You have a couple of excellent powders to start with; see attached file.

Good luck and happy safe shooting/hunting.

Cheers!

Some will swear by H1000 and some like 7828 because it performs well and it was more available during the shortage. After burning several pounds of both, I prefer H1000 in the 300 WM, but since you have both do a side by side and run the one that works best for you.

I only have 185 and 190gr VLDs for my 300wm for now, but my best powder for these bullets is 7828 by far !

I've tried h1000 but 7828 gets me another 100 to 120 fps without pressure signs. And better precision.

Same deal with 7 rem mag.

I'm trying to decide between the H1000 and RL-26 in my 300 win mag shooting the 200 gr ELD-X bullets. Both powders are giving me 2960+ fps and excellent accuracy so far.

I had really good luck with 7828ssc and the 200 eld x in my 300 WM !

Define good luck. This is how my rifle shoots with factory ammo. I'm hoping I can get the same or better groups, not to mention cut my shooting cost dramatically.

If you don't mind can I ask what your load is. I've been loading 200gr eld x with 72.5gr of 7828ssc and had okay results. 0.44" at 100 yard out of a Savage 10t-r. I would like to get a bit tighter.

"Anybody have a pet load for the 190 accubond LR that they would like to share as well."

This brings a load to mind I tried back in 2010. It was using the 190gn Sierra MatchKing with H1000 and CCI250's. I started with 79.0gn and went to 80.5gn in 1/2 grain increments. The most accurate load was 79.0gn, velocity averaged 3078fps, ES was 7.83, SD; 4.12. A 3-shot group @ 100yds measured .142". The rest of the groups all had ES's of less than 20fps and the largest group (79.5gn) was .522".

Play with seating depth with the same load you are using to tighten up groups

79 g of H 1000 and a 185 burger juggernaut is my load
