Seeing as though it's a quality UNFIRED barrel, it's still a viable option.
The only issue is the differences in throat dimension. If the action work is putting you off, just price up a mag box, follower and rail work, it may not be as much as you think.
I only charge $200 to chamber a barrel, unsure what US gunsmiths charge.
