Graphite on a bolt

I read in a old forum about useing graphite
or moly to help smoth up a bolt. My question
do I need to degrease the bolt and/or the receiver
before useing either one of these and is one better
than the other? Thanks

I would say yes. Surface should be clean. I rub graphite (liquid form from tube) on my rails and grease on the backs of the recoil lugs. Use a very small amount or it will collect dirt just like anything.
