Hello,
I have downloaded GRT and have been learning how to use it. It has come in handy with load development and choosing optimal powder. However, I am currently building a 338 Edge. And want to program the edge into GRT.
Would using a 338 RUM that is listed and change the case length from 2.7602 to the 300 rum length of 2.850 work to get the correct model?

If you open the cartridge file and hit create new, you can edit the case and chamber dimensions as needed and then hit save. Give it a name and it will save it in the user side of the cartridge database. Hope this helps.
Dont forget to update water capacity of fired case and any other dimensions.

Correct! Change case length, change case volume, and cartridge length and you'll be good to go. Also confirm the max PSI matches and you'll be good to go.

You can always check on discord if there is a file already. Click help, discord, and search for it

OK now I have to get a windows or Linux platform where has this been all my life. As I age I have used the computer more for building spreadsheets for my data but this is like the holy grail stuff. As I have said before this is why I like this forum thank ya'll again.

Nick, once you get it running, make sure you watch some of the videos how to use it. Lots of information out there and there are a few experts here. I am just an amateur user

It is a great tool but requires one to learn how to use it. Shortcuts with GRT usually end up modeling garbage in, garbage out.

I cannot seem to find it this morning, but GRT did have a Q&A forum, possibly on tapatalk.

When I was struggling to model some factory ammo (getting unrealistic pressure estimates) that forum was very helpful along with the videos, FAQ and other documentation.

It's on discord. Click help on GRT, select discord.

Don't feel bad. I was the same way. Never heard of it before and immediately went looking for it. Then I saw it was free. Whoo.... Hoo... FREE. Downloaded it. Installed it and then was immediately overwhelmed. The eye candy is cool but, I'm going to need to invest some time to learn how to use it and then I'm not sure if it is for me. Got a feeling that it is couple of levels above my skill level. My notebooks and spread sheets still might be the best thing for me.

Yes I know I have all my DOPE and spread sheets also saved from years of reloading and shooting however it would be another tool to use and POSSIBLY help with a struggling build. I would like to try it but I have decided I don't need another platform or device. Also he seems to have really put his heart into it and that says a lot about the program in my opinion. Once again this shows the value of this type of forum.
