+1 I just did the same thing!! But if that's what he wants, he better hurry as from what I'm hearing, they have discontinued the terrapin and January 31st is the last day to buy one!

That's what I did. Terrapin + Kestrell 4500 with Applied Ballistics program. The G7BR2 is a great piece but to range really far small objects the Vectronix is the way to go. I am consistently ranging 10" discs at 2300yds and so far ranged a hay barn at 4100!!. The Kestrel is the nuts!!! Way smarter than I am. Wish I could afford both and I would have kept the G7BR2 for hunting, because it rocks!!

Re: G7 BR2 Rangefinder for Sale

Does the Terrapin compensate for angle? I looked it up and don't see it mentioned....just wondering?

Thanks,
Marcus

Re: G7 BR2 Rangefinder for Sale

Terrapin + Kestrell 4500 with Applied Ballistics program is the route I'm taking. If the G7 does not sell than it is no loss to me. It is a great rangefinder and I'm not dissappointed with it by any means. It just has it's limits like all things.

Mando... I believe your on the Awesome Right Track... wish we were closer together so I could see how they work together... especially on coyote size targets out in the open at long ranges.

Re: G7 BR2 Rangefinder for Sale

Thanks Daniel !
My equipment is on order along with some ELR rifles.
Should be a fun year.

OpticsAuthority,
"You get what you pay for" rings true even with rangefinders. Not everyone needs, wants, or can pay $1500 for a rangefinder but I'm glad the options are there for all of us to enjoy.

What are the limitations that you have seen using the G7?

Re: G7 BR2 Rangefinder for Sale

The G7 is limited to accurate ranging inside of +/-1200yds due to its large beam divergence depending on the circumstances.
For hunting, I see this as being my go to range finder for its quick dial up corrections and range capabilities.
If it doesn't sell, than I will have a great collection of rangfinders in my safe with less money in my pocket.

Re: G7 BR2 Rangefinder for Sale

Bump for a great rangefinder. I have a g7 and it's been awesome. I have very few problems with the beam, took some practice with the different functions but I'm very confident with it now. Have ranged over 2000 yards a lot and ballistics are dialed in on 3 different long range weapons 308, 300wm and 338 lapua . Once you validate drops a tweak the inputs a bit they're spot on and fast to put rounds on target. I believe the input changes I made were not the fault of rangefinder program but due to my chronograph's accuracy. They are great rangefinders.
