Hello everyone!
Up for sale is a Savage Model 10 Stagger feed flat back receiver (4.27" action screw spacing) that has had both the front receiver ring and internal locking lugs trued. They were trued in a lathe using a Manson Precision ground mandrel and bushings through the raceway. Runout on the mandrel was brought down to approx .0002" and then cuts were made with a boring bar. The receiver face ruout even before machining was approx .002" which I thought was pretty good for a factory receiver. After the receiver face was trued I used PTG carbide tooling to true the bolt face. I darkened the face-on picture of the receiver so it would be easier to see the shiny truing cuts.
I initially bought the receiver to use as a project but I have enough irons in the fire so I'm selling it off. I've already sold the stock and barrel, the receiver is all that's left. I bet the receiver doesn't have 50 rounds at most through it. There was almost zero bolt face wear before I trued it up and there is also very little bluing wear through the raceway. It's not perfect but it is in really good condition! I think it mostly set in someone's closet.
Price $350 shipped and insured to your FFL. Might also be willing to trade for Remington 700 (600, 721, 722, Sportsman 78) style bolt action receiver.
Everything you see is included:
Model 10 reciever w/ .308 bolt- trued
-mag box w/ follower & spring
-barrel nut- faced using an expanding mandrel, you can see the shine where the bluing was removed
-factory recoil lug
-lapped Remington recoil lug- I don't like the Savage factory lugs and usually use a lapped Remington when I don't have an aftermarket lug handy
-2 screw trigger- includes factory .055" wire and a replacement .039" wire. Trigger pull has not been set or measured. I could always swap the 2 screw for a 3 screw if someone was interested.
-action screws
-2 piece scope mounts
I think I have feedback here but I can also give you my ebay seller info and accurateshooter.com info if you want to check my selling/buying history.
If you have question or need more/better pictures please let me know!
