SOLD/EXPIRED FS - Custom savage model 12 short action in 6br***SOLD***

I recently built another 6br (fully custom) for bench use so this one has to go. This gun has been fun and very satisfying to shoot for me. Barrel is a 1.250 no taper kreiger barrel in 8 twist to shoot the 6mm 105s/107s/108s. Jim Caudill (aka "mauser man" ) up in Sunbury Ohio completely went over & trued the action, lugs, boltface, chamber and fit the new barrel. The gun is as perfect as you could ever get a savage short action. Barrel has 700 rounds down it and is good to go another 2000+ rounds.

Gun is very accurate and easily capable of 1/2 moa or better depending on your components.The gun loves to shoot 29.9-30.1 gns of varget shooting Berger 105s or Sierra 107 mk's. As you can guess, Bergers get the best groups out of the 2.

Target pic shows shot groups at .5 inch dots..left side are 10 shot groups with berger 88s at 100 Middle groups are with 95 gn bergers which it didnt prefer and the right side are of the 105s at 200 yds off a harris.

i have shot this gun and seen it in action and this savage is a shooter for sure.the action is so smooth on this gun ud think it was a total custom.

Intrested in the rifle is there factory ammo for this or is it a wildcat cartridge. either way good looking rifle.

Its simply a 6br, nothing fancy really. Yes Lapua makes factory ammo for it but 99% of 6BR shooters handload. The general rule of thumb for a 6br is load it with 30 gns of varget and top it off with a 105 berger and you should get half moa or better.

check out the link below on more 6br info. Its my favorite cartridge. Super easy to shoot/tune, ultra efficient, economical to shoot, low recoil, very capable at long distances.

It weighs 17lbs with a zeiss 6.5-20x50 and br bipod on it. Its a detach magazine model. Never ran it with the 6br hence the single shot "fred sled" adapter that comes with it. Makes bench & field shooting a breeze.
