I just picked the Hornady gauge for my 308 and my jump to the lands measured 2.97".
All of my loads are 2.81 max and the delta between that and 2.97" seems large. I'm sure there is some technique involved in measuring so I will try again, but am curious if that is excessive or not..
The barrel is a factory Rem Varmint and has only 120 rounds thru it.
