FN Mauser Conversion

If you really want a .500 Jeff, I'd look at a CZ500. Brownells has the action and they also carry the B&C stock which is really good.

Action (if .375 base works .... they also offer a .416 action for $100 less):

Action - 416:

I'd give Harlan a call at Triple River. He is the smith that does most of CZ's custom work for their factory guns. If you time the parts from Brownells with promos, you can get them for around $800-$900 +/-. Based on that, I think he could likely have a barrel spun on for gun built for low $2k's.

Yes, I looked at Brownells and that is certainly an option.

I did that math for Triple River, and you're looking at $870 for a full barrel job, sights, and bedding the action. $2k should be on the high end.

Just looked at the web site and certainly the combination is very doable. I greatly appreciate the direction to Triple River. Will follow up next week.

I've been talking with the American Rifle Company regarding their Mausingfield action (~$1600). However a 325 WSM or 300 RUM necked up/blown out to .510 caliber using 750gr A-Max or similar bullet has a C.O.A.L. of around 4". Which is larger than almost any magazine and certainly larger than any magazines that a Mausingfield action can support.
