First time doing a ladder test...

VLD bullets have a secant ogive and Sierra, Hybrids and most other Spitzers are a Tangent ogive (curve of the nose) Since a Tangent curve blends smoothly with the body diameter of the bullet they tend to be somewhat self-centering. Secant curves are an arc that terminates at the base of the bullet and are therefore more pointed, but the curve blends into the full body with an abrupt shoulder that is less tolerant of mis-alignment. This is an over simplification but VLD's are less forgiving but very slick. Tangent curved Hybrids and conventional Spitzers are forgiving but blunter. Hybrids are secant at the tip and change to a tangent curve where the tip blends into the body so Hybrids are very slick and tolerant of seating depth. In the last few years Hybrids have developed a cult like following. There must be something to it!
