My wife and daughter made some absolutely beautiful 10% gelatin blocks and my daughter and I made it to the range today to shoot them.
The 165 grain Accubond expanded, transferred energy, and produced a beautiful temporary cavity down to 1800 fps.
The 208 grain AMAX expanded, transferred energy, and produced a beautiful temporary cavity down to 1600 fps.
We also observed (with high speed video) the 208 AMAX reliably tumbling at lower impact velocities (down to subsonic). The bullet penetrates the first 6" point forward and then tumbles every time rapidly transferring energy and creating a huge temporary cavity from 6" deep until exiting the block at 13" deep.
