WTS/WTT: Cash plus optics or rifle?

Remington 700 Sendero in 338 RUM ready to shoot as is, and/or convert to the 338 EDGE. Shoot the RUM barrel out and convert to an EDGE later? I was told 100 rounds fired when I bought it. I put 20 through it. Shoots great. Recoil isn't bad with the brake, not sure what brand it is or who did it.

Re: WTT/WTS: 338 RUM/338 Edge, McMillan Stock, Pac-Nor Barrel

Those bank of wife loans are brutal! I have took one out bout two years ago. Thought I had it paid of, but then apparently the 99.9% interest rate I knew nothing about kicked in. Good luck with yours buddy!

Re: WTT/WTS: 338 RUM/338 Edge, McMillan Stock, Pac-Nor Barrel

I wasn't going for groups when I took it out the one time. The first few shots were getting it on paper as I mounted the scope at home and just looked down the barrel at an object and tried to adjust the scope to be centered on the object. Works pretty good. Those rounds were low, low pressure rounds. The last 3 shots did 1" or less but they were 2500ish FPS. The next ten shots I was upping the powder charge and shooting pairs to find max load. I was shooting 285 Amax which I got up to around 2750 FPS. I was mostly paying attention to FPS on my new LabRadar. I was going to try 250 Bergers but the bearing surface is soooooo short, they would have almost no neck contact with the bullets if you tried to reach the lands. Didn't research enough, I later found that was already discovered and discussed on this site. Local sportmans had sold out of 300 grain Bergers and I grabbed 250's so I could just shoot. Ended up using some of the last 285 amax's of my brothers. He was switching to the new ELD's.

Full disclosure: When I shot it, it was with the HS stock that I had bedded the recoil lug area. It also had a Timney trigger. I haven't fired it in the new stock so I'd don't know what it will do. I'm sure someone would want to bed it to the stock. I haven't as I wasn't sure what kind of deal would be made. I Jair got the stock last week. I'm hoping I end up with it and someone just wants the barreled action but I'm also needing to move it, so... I was going to shoot it and see how it worked as-is.

The factory trigger is actually really really nice. It's been worked over and is light and crisp. Feels as nice as the Timney.
