What do you guys think of the Enfield 1917 action? I aquired a very good looking rifle with the Eddystone action in .270 Winchester, sporterized of course. Action is as slick as greased glass and great trigger. I'm aware of the potential for cracked recievers however this one appears to be fine. Thinking of using this action to it's fullest potential and rebarreling it to something that would sling a VW Beetle to over 2000 fps. How large a round and whats the max pressure recommended for this action? I was thinking LARGE bore but the new 375 Ruger looks promising and a good compromise.
Also this one is still cock on close, do most people perform the cock on opening mod and which would be prefered for a dangerous game rifle?
