I'm chatty this morning, so forgive me.

I'm watching the Olympics, and watching drones track luge or skeleton racers, ski jumpers, half pipe snowboarders, and thinking about how they changed the world around us. I've read of drones recently finding lost pets, finding an elderly individual lost in the forest, locating sounders of pigs, helping inspect the roofs of homes! What an incredible technology and we're only scratching the surface of their capabilities!

They certainly have their place.
Equipped with thermal imagery to find missing people, animals and wounded game, they are a game changer!
Next step up in size is becoming a game changer in agriculture as well. They are 6ft x 6ft and equipped with 15 gallon tanks to spray nozzles to spray crops on a grid guided by GPS.
This same larger drone is also used in the oilfield equipped with magnetic particle imaging to locate buried or underwater pipelines.

Bad Actors will spoil much in this technology, China in particular, not to mention drug dealers. I wish they were highly regulated.

You must become FAA certified to operate bigger commercial drones.
But, we also have idiots with drivers license who use vehicle as weapons…so yeah, a ball point pen can become a weapon in the wrong hands.

I have one. It's the largest you can but and operate with being licensed. So, not very big, but it's got 4k video, and lasts about 30 minutes on a single battery, as I recall. No thermal, but it's a pretty cool little toy. Showed my friend in Iowa and a flock of "starlings?" attacked it. Thought they were gonna drop it in the lake. Nearly had a heart attack!

I believe that illegal. Warfair is my concerns. If everything goes to hell, it will be hard to hide!

I have an Auto that we use on a big ranch to locate downed or shot deer if needed, shooting one out of the sky is a felony even if it's over your house or land.
