I've had my Tac-15 for several years now, and need to ask a this question. Do I need to remove the buffer and spring from my ar lower when assembling the Tac. Noticed that the buffer retainer is broke and have had an issue with the cranking block.

Hi Unoboats,

I didn't remove anything when I mounted my TAC 15 to my lower.

Can you explain your cranking problem?

Un0boats,

Tooth failure in the cranking mechanism has happened before.

Even if your warranty has expired I'd call PSE or contact your dealer to get a new gear assembly as soon as possible!

Broken gears could lead to a spool failure when cranking which can launch your release mechanism along with the arrow.

Winter down time is the absolute best time of year of any maintenance activity, since little to no shooting time is lost.

This is also a great opportunity to replace and worn cocking cable on the sled and also make sure the pin in he sled is well seated and locked in place.

Best of luck,
