I have used many muffs over the years and I consistently suffer discomfort from the opening not being quite large enough. My outer ear cartilage is always sore after a day of shooting.

Was hoping to get some feedback on brand or styles which are most comfortable. To try and limit multiple purchases. I have reached the end of my patience with issue.

I have had the same problem. The last set I bought was a set of walker razors. Very comfy and cheap. Have had these for about a year or so and still going strong!

I laughed when I read this. Seriously, my ears aren't abnormally large. However I may be more sensitive than some folks. Perhaps due to wrestling headgear when I was younger. I think I'll definitely try the Walkers and Gel inserts. I had leaned towards the gel inserts but good to get real world feedback on them.

For closure I thought I'd provide an update.

I bought the Walker Razors and was so happy with them I bought a spare pair.

Thanks all for the feedback and ideas.
