Cz 550 Single Feeding Rounds

Anyone single load to chamber and not from magazine? Does it do any damage to extractor? I'm thinking about the discontinued 550 wood varmint model and single loading vld's.

The CZ 550 extractor, like the extractors on most civilian controlled-feed actions, has a beveled extractor that allows the extractor to snap over the rim of an already chambered cartridge, without issue.

Single feeding can also be accomplished by pressing the rear of the cartridge into the magazine, leaving the bullet resting on the feed ramp. The extractor will capture the cartridge rim normally and feed the cartridge normally using this method.
