AWESOME Bansner's Custom rifle in 338/06 Ackley Improved. Can equal the 338mag. w/ less kick & great accuracy.
22" Lilja barrel fluted + 1.5" break. At 1st just magnaported-then added break. Light recoil for a 338.
Remington M700 LA Blue printed/squared/dipped/blessed - the works.
Gentry 3 position safety-(nice) Skeletonized bolt handle(underneath).
Jewel trigger. Custom ADL triggerguard--no ugly front screw.
Bansner's propriety stock 13 3/8" LOP -- nicely glass bedded. Sheep Hunter style-light.
Weighs 6lbs 2oz. Talley steel fixed bases.
All metal Ceracoted. 33 once fired 336-06 A-Square brass-fired from a different rifle needs to be fireformed through this rifle.

Scoop-- Had Mark Bansner build me this beauty 20+ years ago when I was into 338's. Didn't work up a load-shot it to say I did.
Like new. Since I ama 700 guy(built 700 actions at Remington)-did not use their Propriety action. It is a slick rifle for sure-won't dissapoint at a killer price $2850.

Dang! Very interesting piece and built by Bansner himself. I've got nearly the same rifle in a 300RUM. My go to for big game. Amazingly accurate and like you said not much recoil, probably due to Marks comp. Hard if not impossible to find. I am tempted to pick up another one but the timing isn't great. Anyway, GLWS, someone is going to get a great deal.

Gentry Custom 3-Position Safeties

The Gentry 3-Position Safety is the most reliable and user friendly safety on the market. In the forward position the rifle is "live" and will fire when the trigger is pulled. In the middle position the trigger is disengaged but the user can still operate the bolt to load and unload. In the rear position the trigger is disengaged and the bolt is locked as well.

This is crazy….
I can't believe this is still available.
I have a Bansner Sheep X-Treme (LH) in 300 WM.
Shoots 0.5 MOA all day long with Nosler ammo.
This is a wonderful caliber from a great smith.

fire forming brass is a challenge ? What can one expect with 200-225-250 grain bullets for velocity? What poundage is the trigger? You do or don't have the dies? Only 33 brass, any other? Magazine hold 4?

Fire forming is easy-just shoot the brass-like 338-06(like I have) or Neck up 30-06 brass with dies and shoot to fire form.
Trigger is 2lb-It's a Jewel so 1# to 4# adjustable. No Dies-but above is link to get them 33 Brass-I assume 4 in mag-never loaded it.
Approx 2700fps with 225.
