I just spent 10 minutes typing this and went to post and they froze it 12 minutes ago.
How about pay per ad like first one free after you meet forum rules. Then $5.00-$10.00 per ad that way larger items can be on there own and if you have a bunch of small items we can group them in one ad. I will say that I have used the classifieds a lot here, but I can say I have not made a penny on anything I've sold. It's all been moving stuff I don't use anymore or don't want and passing it on to people that will use it or are just getting started in long range. I think the pay as you list/sell is a better option because one year you might have 50 items to sell/clean out and the next only a couple items. It will affect the people that only come here to sell items and not contribute to the other forum info. And I think the site would make more money to help with operations and keep it free for people just starting out to learn from. Just my 2 cents worth.
