Looking for a real cheap pack for getting quartered deer out of the woods, maybe a mile up a mountainside. Will only be used once every year or two for deer and maybe to pack a 5 gallon bucket of frozen coyote bait a ways in. Don't want to spend hundreds on a nice pack that wont get used much. Any recommendations?

Cheapest I saw on Amazon was $93

Lot of times you can find old alum frames similar at garage sale for $10.I have several, leave them with para cord looped on top in my hunting rigs.

Go to eBay or your local surplus store right now and search for an "ALICE Pack Frame." Buy it, buy a $10 set of cargo straps from Harbor Freight, and you have a deer-hauling system for under $60 that will outlive you and handle anything you throw at it.

They have a good selection at sportsmens whse. The one I got was light, comfy and only cost $60

Kelty Cache Hauler is the one you want. Well made. Genuinely comfortable. Goes on sale regularly at Sportsman's Warehouse for $100-$120ish. Far better than the $50-$75 generic stuff.
