chambering a .22 LR barrel

Chambering a barrel for .22 LR seems straight forward and making a go gauge/ headspace gauge seems the same.
I have a new gun that did not make it to quality control and needs a new chamber cut. What designation/type of reamer is best for a bolt action target rifle and what is the recommended headspace for the same? Many thanks!

Chambering a 22RF is not nearly as simple as it may appear to you. If you are making a dedicated target rifle, what ammunition are you planning to shoot. There are specific reamers by ammo like Lapua, vs Eley etc., as well as specific rim thickness specifications. If you are going more Generic then there are a lot of chamber choices. I'd pick the chambering method that says, "Send the new gun back to the manufacturer for QC issues!" I know a lot of us mechanically inclined dudes like to troubleshoot our own problems, but I only like that when it's my own problem and not caused by a root issue done by the manufacturer.

There is a ton of options on 22 reamers. The tighter ones or more specialized will give you better accuracy with certain ammo. Try to match your reamer to the ammo you will want to use.
