Managed to get some good first hand data on 62 tsx's on elk.

At 75 yards they'll drop a cow elk if you put one into her neck about 8" in front of the shoulder.

AR's using .223 are very popular here for everything. You did good. Meat in the freezer and that is what counts.

That's my go-to hunting bullet, although on much smaller Southerm deer. Impressive performers!

I will occasionally take out my Ar in 5.56 loaded with 62 gr TSX or Fusion but I've yet to shoot a deer with one, although I've shot a truckful with 6.5 Grendel. I just never seem to see anything the few times I've hunted with it, go figure.
