Had some frustration today at 100yds shooting prone w/pod.

Is there a known 'ground effect' if your bullet travels close (say less than 1') for a good portion of it's way to the target that would affect bullet travel? Thank you. Jon

Valid question, but I made sure there was nothing in the way but air.

Must've just been me. No suprise there as I'm typically the weak link in the system!

Could be mirage getting you, which is always worse as one gets closer to the source.

Otherwise, I'm not aware of any special effects of being close to the ground. Most of my shooting is from bipods and I believe that the lower my position, the better/more solidly I shoot.
