I am putting a weaver/picatinny style single base on a savage 110 7mm-08. it will most likely be an aluminum base. This is not a long range rig. Will hold a 3-9x40 or 2.5-10x42 scope. Just looking for a recommendation on some rings that should work well for a 400 yard set-up. Again, budget is a concern. I don't want to buy absolute junk, but if you all can recommend some rings that would hold true for a 400yard non-magnum rifle set-up that would be great! Thanks.

TPS-TSR, or TSRW rings.

Great product at a very reasonable price. Len sells them at a good price through the LRH store at this site.
