Load up all 11 weapon stations, and it is one bad hombre. With AIM-9 even provides an air-to-air threat.

When I was stationed at Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ, the A-10's close air support system demonstration stole the show from the Thunderbirds during an air show.

I think it is sad that the AF has been trying for so long to retire them. Pilots love them, troops on the ground love them even more.
