I have a Savage Prairie Hunter chambered in 224 valkryie. Thinking of changing barrels. Was curious about the bolt face being able to be used with a ppc cartridge. Strangely enough the larger ppc case seemed to fit the bolt face. I measured the cartridge base of the 224 and ppc. The ppc is .0260 larger, just .0130 larger on each side. Savage being a floating bolt face would the firing pin center on the primer??
Would someone with far more experience than myself share your guidance on if this conversion?
