I have noted previously that this is an entry-level or budget thermal scope. I think that I have probably, come close to the functional limit of identification of smaller game (<20 lbs) when I took this bobcat at 120 yards. With thermal, when animals are only identifiable from certain directions/angles/perspectives, then you are getting close to the limit of the scope for identification. In this case, the cat provided me a nice profile that was identifiable, but later when I took the shot, if I didn't already know for sure what he was, I would not have been certain it was a bobcat.
The .308 Nosler Accubond traveled the length of the body, taking out the right hip and left shoulder as well as causing an abdominal blowout along the way, resulting in approximately 24" of penetration, but no exit.
