binos or spotter

Hello all,

I use a simple 10x40 set of bushnell binos for all my archery and rifle hunts. I have certainly abused them over the years. I'm shopping around for something new/better. I'd like too only spend $1000, but could go up to $1800.

I'm very grateful to live and hunt in colorado, so I reaze optics can be an asset on a hunt. Do you think I would get more or better use out of a high end pair of binos or a spotting scope?

If there is already a thread for this, my apologies.

Thanks, Gerry

skip the spotter and go with some good binos.

Zeiss
Vortex
Leica

not necessarily in that order

Binocs...good range finding if you can afford. I went with Leica Geovids, 10X. Ranging to 1300 yds, I think, clear, now they go everywhere..

I carried both for years and lost the spotter on the backside of Shaffer Butte. Haven't replaced it.

Binocs are for finding game and spotters are for following game already found. 99% use on Binoculars, 1% for the spotter WHILE HUNTING. Never use binocs at the range.
